Crop video

Crop a video to square, vertical or widescreen. Nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

Crop a video to a square for a profile or feed post, a tall vertical shape for stories and short clips, or widescreen for presentations and websites. Choose a shape, slide it across the picture to pick the part you want to keep, and check the preview before you save. Cropping happens on your own device, so your video is never uploaded, and there is no account or watermark to deal with. The cropped video keeps the file type you started with.

How to use it

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Pick a shape: square, vertical, widescreen, classic or portrait.
  3. Slide the crop across the picture to choose what stays.
  4. Press Crop and download the result.

Common questions

Can I draw my own crop shape?

No. You choose one of five set shapes and slide it across the picture to decide what stays.

Will cropping stretch my video?

No. The part you keep is shown at its natural proportions, never stretched or scaled up.

Good to know

  • Choose a shape, then slide the crop across the video to pick the part you want to keep.
  • Cropping makes the picture again, so it takes a little longer than the other edits. We keep the quality as close to the original as we can.
