Trim video

Cut the start and end off a video. Nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

Trim a video to cut off a shaky start, an awkward ending or anything you do not want to share. Move the two handles to choose the part you want to keep, and watch the preview jump to each point so you can see exactly where you are cutting. Your video stays on your own device the whole time: nothing is uploaded, you do not need an account, and no watermark is added. The result keeps the same file type as the video you started with.

How to use it

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Drag the Start and End handles. The preview jumps to each point.
  3. Press Trim.
  4. Download the shorter video.

Common questions

Why does my trimmed video start a little early?

When the cut falls close to a natural break in the video, the trim is saved quickly and keeps the quality exactly, but it can start up to a quarter of a second before your start point. Other cuts are made again from your exact start.

Can I cut out the middle of a video?

Not in one step. Trim the part before and the part after separately, then put them together with the Join videos tool.
