Can I save the sound as an MP3?
Not at the moment. You can save M4A, which is small and plays almost everywhere, or WAV, which is uncompressed and much larger.
Does removing the sound change the picture?
No. The picture is left exactly as it was and the result is a new file, so your original keeps its sound.
